Coxx X-Low chassis: A modular framework out of galvanized, high grade steel components. A recipe for a lightweight chassis, containing the lowest floor with custom dimensions. Generating the highest efficiency for both vehicle coach builders and vehicle end users.

The low entry from 250 mm, GVW weight increase up to 7.490 kg, flexible dimensions and wheelbase generate endless possibilities. A manual ramp can be easily deployed to roll anything in and out of your truck.  

The use of a S700MC high grade steel in smartly formed building blocks provide a strong and lightweight base. The modular design shortens building time, supports and reinforces the body where needed and provides space to save weight or store accessories.  

The structure provides many locations to add components such as levelling system, water tank, extra batteries or even a H2 hydrogen conversion set.

Single vehicle vs series production.

The large set of modular building blocks generates a platitude of customization options. This way the X-Low stays both affordable and keeps leads times in check when only a few or single vehicle is required. Extra customization is optional to add the finishing touch to your unique vehicle.   

For larger series the X-Low provides multiple options. Prototyping can quickly be done when starting from the modular base chassis. All engineering will be in 3D CAD to cooperate efficiently.  

Small series assembly will be provided by us. This includes a production efficiency check on the chassis design and potential custom components.  

Scaling up production efficient.

When the volume upscaling phase starts, we can proceed in various ways:

  1. Continue to supply the converted chassis cab, with further optimizations for series production. 
  2. Train the coach builder’s work force to convert the X-Low chassis in house for efficient production 
  3. Outsource assembly and or conversion to a local third party to optimize for labour and transport costs.  
  4. Convert the design to be fully welded on welding robots and have final assembly done in consent.  

The benefits.

Easy entry thanks to the lowest floor.

There is a choice between two floor heights and types: a lowered center aisle (from 250 mm) and a flat cargo floor (from 400 mm). With a lowered center aisle at just 250 mm chassis height, you can step in and out quickly and easily. In addition to greater efficiency and higher productivity, the low center of gravity provides enhanced driving comfort.

Standard air suspension for a smooth ride.

The chassis comes standard with Coxx air-sprung axles, equipped with tapered parabolic springs and high-quality air bellows. The axle construction is modular and fully galvanized. The air suspension is operated via an extremely user-friendly control panel. This suspension enhances driving comfort and allows the chassis to lower to a very low height within seconds.

Reuse thanks to universal coupling system.

The X-Low chassis is attached to the cab using a patented universal coupling system. This system allows the chassis to be connected to a new or even a different type of cab, giving the chassis a second life after depreciation or cab damage. The coupling system features a universal interface for Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, Opel, VW Crafter, and MAN TGE, and is extremely efficient, allowing the chassis to be swapped within just a few days.

More payload thanks to unique construction.

The chassis beams are made from Domex S700 steel, fully riveted to prevent stress in the chassis, resulting in an ultra-strong, lightweight structure.

This lightweight construction allows for increased payload within the vehicle’s weight class.

A Coxx X-Low chassis is designed to fit your vehicle’s application optimally. You will work more effectively, gaining a larger return per vehicle than a one-size-fits-all solution.

We build vehicles and modular low floor chassis up to 7.490 kg GVW. With a European regular B driving license you can drive till 3.500 kg, exemptions excluded. Over 3.500 kg GVW you will need a C or C1 driving license.  

The L City electric urban truck is available in resp. 2.800 kg and 3.500 kg GVW version. Both can be driven with the regular B driving license. 

Yes. You can select the L City as a chassis cab, with a flat surface or beavertail to build your own coachwork onto. We can also advise you in a coach builder to have your custom bodywork made and installed for you. 

Yes. The Coxx X-Low chassis provides a solid and flat surface to build any type of body work on to easily. The modular chassis design will customize the camper to your needs and wishes. Space for water tanks, a heater or battery systems can be integrated into the chassis under your floor.

We can open up the cab rear wall to connect the cab to your living space. A one-touch hydraulic levelling system can be supplied and enrich your camping experiences.
